What kind of problems have they been having? Reason I'm asking is that
although my gamepad _works_ in pitfall, it acts very hokey. When the
pad is centered the movement likes to jitter to the left, making it
almost impossible to play the game.

In the joystick control panel the centering crosshair jitters too, but
only by a pixel, which ain't unreasonable. The game seems to consider
any amount of movement off the center, no matter how miniscule, as a
trigger.

BTW the gamepad is hooked up to the port of my GUS.
