I don't know about the original target of this comment, but I rely
extensively on SAS for OS/2 (high powered statistical/data management
program native to almost every platform you can mention, with OS/2 being
one of the best versions of SAS) and DeScribe (word processor) -- both at
work and at home.  The only Windows app I use at work is Davinci email;
the only Windows app I use at home is CA-Simply Money (and I'm looking
forward to the upcoming OS/2 port).

Of course, you ignore the recent IBM/Lotus announcement. They are working
on the API calls that are similar under both OS/2 and Win95 (forgive me if
I'm a bit off in this description, as I'm not a programmer in either
environment). What that will mean is that a game developer can write a
program for Win95 and use the SAME source code to compile the game for
OS/2. Of course, there is currently a tool that allows the vendor to use
a large portions of their code, but it still requires some writing as I
understand it; however, given the ability to port the code by simply
switching the parameters of the compiler, there will be no excuse for not
producing native OS/2 versions of games (and other apps) given this
capability.
