I agree. IBM took Win 3.1 code and managed to get it to run 20 - 25% faster *WITH NO CHANGES TO THE ACTUAL CODE*. How? Simple, they used a Watcom C compiler (the best out there), while Microsoft apparantly used a Microsoft C compiler (MS makes the worst compilers out there). Also, here is something interesting. Move a value in one location in memory to another location in memory. In Windows, all memory to memory transfers go through the swap file. A real programmer knows that this is stupid and would never do a thing like that. You could double Window's speed if you just cleaned up its code and fix little things like this. Sloppy, poorly written code, with a nice interface. That is a good description of MS products. -- \_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\ Stephen Wilhelm Majors: Computer Science | MC Computer Mississippi College Engineering Physics | Support Team swil...@mc.edu Minor: Mathematics | sup...@mc.edu
