I didn't start this >thread, but was responding to a rather childish 'so there' statement by >someone else. Face it, we aren't going to get rid of this for awhile. I read several groups and this is like a fungus of pointless arguing that has infected all of them. In some cases, it is the same names saying the same things on these groups. It is all really pointless. Win95 is coming out whether people like it or not, OS2 users will defend OS2 to death and users of other systems will advocate theirs. Those of us who wish they would get their own newsgroup for this will have to wait until they get bored and migrate like a band of gypsies to the next newsgroup to continue this. Take offense if you want; but this really is getting beaten to death by a group of people who, in most cases, haven't seen Win95 and consequently don't even know what they are talking about. Face it, OS2 works fine, the present Windows/Dos, etc is adequate and Win95 from all indications is a good system (yes, I've worked some with it) and some others out there are fine for their advocates also. It's a matter of preference that has been reduced to a Bud vs Bud Lite argument. If someone has something new, meaningful, knowledge-based and relevant to say, fine. We all want to read it. If it's uh-huh, unh-unh arguing, please save the bandwidth. I have to agree with Jim that the post he was responding to with the person saying "So There" wasn't exactly meaningful discussion. Furthermore, the "So There" post was incorrectly blasting a person who said that he was all] for discussing game related issues of Win95; but was objecting to the Win95 thread digressing off into hardware discussions of plug-and-play and other areas. I'm not taking sides there; but would like to see a person who is going to throw a tantrum, flame or whatever to at least be sure of what the whole issue is before attacking a point of view. The idea of a group specifically for this is a good one. I'm to the point that I'm very hesitant about even mentioning Win95 in relation to anything whatsoever; because it invariably leads to a thread that builds practically to hysteria before people get bored and move on. If there is really that much interest; then an op.sys group should be started. Just envision it! They would have their own group, kind of like a big arena. Locked in until one survivor finally emerges. The rest of us would be the spectators logging on to read the flames; which would no doubt reach legendary proportions. Dan
