: What r u talking about !!! :) Doom 2 and Wing Commander Armada have : already been ported over to Win95 to persuade current developers to turn : to Win95 for games. Doom 2 and Wing Commander Armada run faster and : smoother using Win95 faster than what??! How much faster can you get with direct hardware access (DOS) without having to make calls via WIN95. :because of the specific video drivers that Win95 uses and the fact that :Win95 is 32bit. <----so what, I have and many others have been writing 32bit apps long before Win95. Don't really see how Win95 is going to Speed up my code. But writing apps optimized for the Pentium would help. If you have to write for Win95 and I know I will have to, then you have no choice. But the fastest performance you will get is writing for CPU optimization not OS. I have code written for a 486 that took 100 cycles but optimized on a Pentium took 32 cycles. :Please note that the increases in speed only occur on a DX2 or above :because Win95 has been optimized for fast computers. Really -> Win95 written so poorly that only fast computers can give a good impression of speed.
