Future games such as Wing Commander IV, Warhammer, and Falcon 4 : will be Win 95 native apps. DOS games (and indeed DOS itself) are in : their final days. There is a LOT of reasons why Win'95 is a better : gaming platform than DOS -- for one thing you don't have to worry if : your video or sound card is suppported by the game -- if Windows : supports it, the game supports it -- and you don't have to have eight or : ten differnt config.syses either! And with the WinG graphics library, : it really isn't much slower than DOS. Whoopss - Win95 still uses your config.sys. They just hide it behind that neat picture with the little blips at the bottom (looks like a mini startrek). If you don't believe me just go in there and move it. I mean you really don't need it - Right. If you do some stuff may not start and a blank config.sys will be created. The autoexec.bat must cantain that stupid net start command or no net. Of course since ms claims it isn't used .... -Terry Ps the dos underneat is still dos6 + upgrades ... Hmmmm (if it was a 32bit dos the command.com, and related files would have had to be updated ...)
