IBM is still supporting OS/2 v2.0, v2.1 as of now. >Explain why their newest product NT 3.X has always supported OS/2 1.x >text apps.! Because that's the user base MS want to convert to NT. From what I gathered (from .advocacy groups, believe at your own risk), before NT, the MS sold a lot of network stuffs based on OS/2 1.x (the one co-developed by MS and IBM, before the split). Many MS corporate clients (those haven't switched to IBM's OS/2 2.x) are still using them when NT was released (what else do they have from MS?). And NT's OS/2 1.x text apps support are for them, not for the average Joe user who are using OS/2 1.x. Also, supporting old stuff with the newer version is different from supporting the old version. MS supporting NT 3.x which supports OS/2 1.x is different from MS supporting OS/2 1.x. Because in the former case, you better upgrade; in the latter, you don't have to. ______ Oliver Chung > My opinions are my own < > Happy Warp user < PGP Key fingerprint: 3E 86 59 AD 08 35 BE 54 DF 63 B9 F8 F7 8B 10 3B -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.2 iQCVAwUBMAAV9nNBYa8g7KHRAQEH6QQAs4kXPGa0o/B06b0yiimMxK0ZpOBOfPBl /YdeX6TzbNa+lhoeruEoXrvY68JvcfQHAztIkhHQCa6baptpJORrqcRi31ZcoEcY EgdwsHqqwFCV0vQu5qxxQn420gYEoOFP+XtPs3bmonBSkEsiNgcffPnW8F9Qxrx+ 5L0Cpiu6dQM= =keED -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
