In article <3nm415$b...@csc.mc.edu>, swil...@csc.mc.edu (Stephen Wilhelm) says: > I for one, >run more than 10 things at a time quite often, and Win95's limit to 8 >programs (that damn 64K heap) get's on my nerves. Another example of a clueless OS/2 user. Win95 can run more than 8 programs. I am running at least 12 programs on my P90 with 24 MEGs of RAM using Win95. There is still a 64K USER HEAP, but most things have been moved to 32-bit HEAPS. The problems arise with threads and separate message queues which Microsoft is trying to fix before the release. The culprit was Microsoft Exchange. You really should use something before you speak about it. I've used OS/2 before and I was impressed by it on purely technical merits, but that doesn't mean I'm going to run it for my client machines or recommend it for home users. For people who want to run OS/2 I'm pushing Windows NT or Unix/Linux. Better choices for Mission Critical Computing.
