Look at this:

button =5;
if (button = 1) trace ('*');
trace (button)

And this:

button =5;
if (button == 1) trace ('*');
trace (button)

:-) You must use == (two times =) for logical equation and =(one =) for
assignment. This is fundamental rule of all modern languages :-)
