That's quite deliberate.  That was part of the mythos
behind classical boylove--the beauty of a young male
at an age when they still have some "feminine" 
characteristics (smooth skin, no beard, etc.). The
Greeks would have simply told you that boys combined
the best of both men and women in one package.
