Witam
zmieniłem debiana 386 na debian-40r4a-etchnhalf-amd64-netinst
oczywiście 4.0

od tego momentu przy czytaniu płytki wyrzuca takie błędy:

> Nov 23 00:32:48 hal9000 kernel: hdb: packet command error: error=0x54 { AbortedCommand LastFailedSense=0x05 }

> Nov 23 00:32:48 hal9000 kernel: ATAPI device hdb:

natomiast gdy płytki nie ma w nośniku takie:
> Nov 23 00:40:05 hal9000 kernel: hdb: tray open
> Nov 23 00:40:05 hal9000 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev hdb, sector 0

na wersji 386 wszystko było ok

Ja bym zamienił na hta. Druga opcja to za stary kernel (386 instalowałeś 
z CD-R?).
Już nie bardzo pamiętam ale chyba 4.0 netinst z kernelem 2.6.18 nie 
rozpoznaje DVD.
