Hello all,

Please excuse my netiquette for multi e-mailing. I am a newbie to the linux
world, and I would like to know which distribution you would advise.

I have ripped out an old computer and want to install and start
using/learning linux.

I have already got fedora core, and for some reason, after an installation
it cannot update or connect to the redhat network.
Do I need to pay for some kind of subscription. I thought Linux was a free,
open source OS

Thank you
Jonathan Fourie
