Blagam pomocy!!!

Nie moge zmusic mojego Knoppixa 3.2 aby polaczyl sie z Internetem.
Mam laptopa HP Pavilion ZE4125 z PCMCIA D-Link DFE690TXD.
Moje polaczenie z Internetem to siec LAN z DHCP. Gdy uruchamiam
"netcardconfig" i wybieram DHCP wywala mi blad ze DHCP nie moze przydzielic
mi adresu IP. Pod windows XP DHCP dziala pieknie. Dlatego po uruchomieniu
Windows XP odpisalem wszystkie wazne parametry mojego polaczenia (IP,
netmask, default gateway) i  wprowadzilem je recznie do netcardconfig.

Po wydaniu polecenia "ifconfig -a" widze podane przeze mnie IP itd ale dalej
nie moge polaczyc sie z internetem.
Ponizej zamieszczam co wpisalem recznie:
ifconfig eth0 XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX netmask 255.255.254.0
route add default gw XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX metric 1
(XXX - wziete z windows)

pozniej zmodyfikowalem moj /etc/resolv.conf:
nameserver XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX

ifdown -a
ifup -a

Pozniej probuje ping 127.0.0.1 - i dostaje odpowiedz (znaczy ze eth0 dziala
poprawnie i jest aktywna)
ping XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX - moj IP (tak samo, dostaje odpowiedz)

Gdy probuje zapingowac cos innego np:
ping www.google.com - nie dostaje zadnej odpowiedzi
ping my_default_gw_IP - nie dostaje zadnej odpowiedzi
