is it possible to create a function template in c# like in c++?
i've looked around but haven't found a thin so i figure it either doesn't
exists or is called something else.

    It is not possible *yet*. Generics will be introduced in C# and CLR in
the next version of .NET Framework. You can refer to the C# 2.0 Language
Specification for more details.
