Okay, I've just realised that a few messages I meant for the ng have
been sent to various people...so I've tried to rescue what I meant to
post.  Here's one:

Yah, it's weird how you can see terrain but not the aliens.  A soldier
was standing in a field once, looking at a bale of hay.  All was clear,
the map was all uncovered.  He took one pace forward - and blam, was
promptly shot by the Sectoid standing on top of said bale of hay.  Sigh.
