Got a few questions here. 1. I heard that carrying an item in each hand, for example a rifle and a motion scanner, decreases the accuracy of the rifle. Is this true? Or does accurary increase when nothing else is being "used" ? 2. If you quit researching something, and later on restart researching it, do you have to start all over or do your scientists pick up where they left of ? 3. Somebody told me there's an 80 items limit on the skyranger. Does this affect the amount of alien equipment recovered from a mission or not ? Jef

Whether it's a penalty for carrying extra or a bonus for NOT carrying extra is pretty meaningless though since the effect is the same. > 2. My gut reaction is that you'd lose all progress and would have to start over with whatever you choose. You could test it fairly easily: from a savegame position research something and see how long it takes (just crank the speed and ignore all events), go back to the save, research it halfway, research something else, then go back and try the first one again. > 3. No, it only affects the equipment you can take with you (which I must say was a pretty lame, low, and arbitrary limit to use even given the state of game programming and limits of computer power at the time the game was released). -- Duane VanderPol: dua...@earthlink.net or dua...@aol.com Castle of the Glowing Sky: http://home.earthlink.net/~duanevp/index.html "Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards for they are subtle and quick to anger" - Tolkien "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" - Clarke

The only weapons that do not suffer from this rule are the one handed weapons ie all of the pistol type weapons, grenades, etc. > 2. I have done this on occasion and it seemed to me that it took just as long the second time around as it did if I had not interrupted their research. ] > 3. No. You return to base with everything that survived the ground mission. Alien weapons, artifacts, corpses etc are not included in the 80 item limit. The limit exists only for your troops when you go on missions, not on what you bring back. NOTE: The same 80 item limit also exists for the Avenger as well. What a bitch this is since the Avenger carries almost double the soldiers, so you have to carry weapons platforms since you do not have enough storage space on the Avenger to reasonably equip a 26 man squad. About a month ago I requested that the remake of UFO do away with this ridiculous limit. -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum

Additionally, you can overload your base storage with the loot. But if you take something out of an overloaded base, you cant put it back, so you need to keep the inventory pared down.
