Researching Leviaton in XCOM 2

HI.

I know this game is old but I have been playing Xcom 2 - Terror from the
deep for some time now.

I have a few problems.

1st. I HAVE installed the latest patch for the game. Despite this I can't
research any of the new subs. I have a lobsterman navigator, alien sub
construction, magnetic navigation and ion accelerators at a research base.

I can't seem to research the alien sub construction even though I have 10+
units of this at a base, is this what is stopping me ?

Secondly, I have learnt that the alien city is in the pacific. I have sent
several subs to the pacific on patrol and have set up a base there (the subs
are using the "infinate fuel" cheat and so are patrolling indefinately). I
still seem to be unable to locate the alien base, even after a whole year of
searching the pacific.

Can anyone help me with these problems.

Thanks in advance.

I always was under the impression that the alien base was in the gulf of
Mexico?

The main difference between X-Com UFO and X-Com TFTD is that you need to
capture the proper alien to teach you their technology, the number of units
does not matter, all you really need is one or two. The main problem is
getting the information out of the alien. I got the cheat book somewhere...
mainly to get the research tree...

I think you need a Lobsterman Commander or something also to tell you where
the base is... and then something else... then you get the Leviathon... I
will double check it and email you with it if you want...

Imagine this: 100 scientists interogating a lobsterman round the clock...
armed with a rubber hose!

Pacific?? I thought T'Leth was in the Gulf of Mexico... but anyway, you need
a Leviathon to get there, it is too deep for the other subs...

Its like the first game where you need someone (a commander) to tell you
where the base is, and then you need the tech to get there...
