How do you modify MISSIONS.DAT? I found some information about other X-COM
save game files, but I couldn't find anything on this one. My understanding
is that it controls what missions the aliens are doing. So if you hack this
file, could you change what missions the aliens do?

Try Scott Host, author of XCOMUTIL.

I don't think that XCOMUTIL has any options for modifying MISSIONS.DAT. It
seems to me that every time you start a new game, it selects what missions
the aliens do, and in what region. The only way to get a different set of
missions is to start a completely new game. I want to know if you can
modify this file so that you can force the aliens to do a specific mission
in a specific region. For example, I could cause floaters to conduct a
terror mission in Australia. Or whatever mission I want.

Apparently it's not just MISSIONS.DAT that has to be modified. There's
another file, ZONAL.DAT which (I think) controls what regions the aliens
are operating in.

Ooops. I must have posted the same message twice. It was an accident with my
newsreader.

Since I don't seem to be getting any answers here, where should I ask this?
