the game is so slow ,any suggestion

I tried the ctrl+F12 to speed up the game, doesn't work. the original
setting was 3000, I go to 24000 ( this seem to be the optimal ( alittle
better but still slow) past 28000 getting even slower.

Also in every Terror site mission, the game always ending my turn abruptly
after several turns ( usually after I played about 7- 12 turns) and the
report card always assumed the exact same score report like the last sub
recovery mission that I did. And when this happened, the sound of the game
is always missing ( like i am playing with out sound card). I started to
getting frustated, because it happened when I am about to win ( like the
game somehow decide to cheat and piss me off)

This thing always happened, whether I tried using Dosbox or try to play
the Xcom ( dos version) by directly clicking the batch file ( terror
batch).

any one experience this before?
