I haven't tried it in XP, but there seems to be a big thread on the topic at http://www.strategycore.co.uk/forums/index.php?showforum=15

To get this working sounds very time consuming, but it isnt. First of all you need 3 Utils. you need the Xcom Apoc No cd: http://www.xcomufo.com/x3cdfix.zip just extract this to your game dir. then you need VDMSOUND:http://ntvdm.cjb.net/ And one final thing: you need a little dos program called mousectl.com (use a search engine to find it) now that you have everything install vdmsound. and copy the mousectl.com to the game dir. now then. edit the xcom3.bat file to look like this: @echo off mousectl.com 7,10,12,15,20,22,25,30 fakecd .. /L:D >nul xcom3_cd.com DOSDRV xcomapoc.exe SKIP rem Uninstall process xcom3_cd.com fakecd /U >nul mode co80 cls The only 2 changes are mainly the DOSDRV Line added and the mousectl.com line. one more last thing, go into the properties of xcomapoc.exe, then go to compatibility and check compatible for windows 95, 256 colours, disable advanced text services and disable visual themes. Set the Soundcard to Soundblaster Pro 220 7 1

Well at least I had the excomapoc.exe windows emulation correct. I'll work on this over the weekend and let you all know how it goes. Raille

If you give up on that route, you might want to try this one: http://www.xcomufo.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=841 -Micah micahdg@xcomufo.com www.xcomufo.com "Raille" <raille@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:1107392464.660bfb823836b4b1a9cb1ba361747608@teranews... > > "Sebastian Geist" <susi19SPAM@uni.de> wrote in message > news:Xns95F1A79F760B9Sphinx@130.133.1.4... >> Raille wrote in >> news:1107340262.af2fcb6a72233bd88957a3315501ba50@teranews: >> >>> Is possible to get the cofiguration's correct to run Apocalypse in this >>> OS? >> >> To get this working sounds very time consuming, but it isnt. The above method allowed me to get to the start menu, and even into the game. However the graphics were wacked. absolutly zero vertical control. the screen looked like a old television screen that collapsed sideways. So back to the drawing board. How your method works better.
