ARMOUR: 1) Its very Important to start reseach on personal armour as soon as you possibly can, and for this you'll need good old "Alien Alloy" 2) Once researched get your engineers churning suits out for everybody as soon as possible (supplies permitting), as this cuts down those "one hit wonder" rookie events. 3) When you perform the research for "UFO Power Source", you can then manufacture power suits. 4) Finally, by finishing a hovertank, you should be able to start work on flying suits. NOTE: Its been said that powersuits are actually more efficient because, the flying suit use a lot of Elerium-115. As such, the flying suits should only be given to the select few, for flushing out aliens from multilevelled buildings ect, ect. PS: If you have any questions regarding UFO, please feel free to reply to the news group, and in the subject window type " UFO ( question)", its as simple as that, and I'll do my best to answer them. ============================= >From Simon Trowman Please replace NOSPAM with clara

I've got something to add on the subject of armor. I find myself in total agreement with Simon on the subject of flying armor. It's very expensive, and as such should only be used on a few choice soldiers. However, I've noticed that I tend to go berserk with flying soldiers. Not that I consciously send my soldiers into danger, but that I often accidentally fly them too far and put them into the line of fire for aliens. I've found that the best way to assault battleships, however, requires about 12 soldiers, two flying suits, and two guided missile launcher thingies. When you first get to the UFO land site, send two soldiers out to mop up any houses or fields of alien presence. 6, hopefully in power suits and with laser rifles or heavy plasma, head out on foot to the lowest parts of the battleship, to enter from the bottom. Two soldiers stay behind, and each launches 1 guided missile. The first is aimed at one of the squares in the *exact center of the roof of the battleship. This way, the missile will blow a hole in the roof, and your soldiers can invade the ship from above as well. The second guided missile is launched through the hole created by the first missile, and guided into the second floor from the top, ending with an abrupt diagonal turn so that it hits a wall. There are almost always several aliens clustered on the second floor near the elevator things, and this should wipe them out. If you dont care about artifacts, you can just keep launching missiles down there, and take out the majority of the aliens with just guided missiles. Also, for a third attack route, you can launch a missile into the wall of one of the little engine pods that extends to the ground, or into the wall of one of the upper floors. The more angles you can attack the aliens from, the less chance you have to be surprised when you walk around a corner, and the easier it is to call for backup. Oh, one more thing: you *can* kneel for better aim when floating in midair, however, the soldier's sprite will not reflect this. He will just appear to be standing still. -Peter
