Called UFO Alien Invasion, the 28 meg demo is so much like the original game
it is frightening. Give it a look.

It's looking good - I couldn't find a way to rotate the camera,
though, or turn a character without moving.

check out the readme HTML file. The left/right arrow keys rotate the screen.
The middle scroll button will zoom in and out. Press the middle mouse
button to look a direction.

Right now I am find the game rather frustrating. I cannot seem to find a
way to set up for opportunity fire. A bit more study is required.

For a tech demo, that's a fantastic piece of work. I've played finished
games which don't play as well as that! :)
The interface needs a heck of a lot of tweaking, and there's obviously lots
of things not added yet, but wow.

 That's quality, right there.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention Mike - I hadn't heard of that one
before today.

It looks good, just the scrolling needs work as it is very annoying tbh.
They should follow convention where cursors move the screen

And to add to that.

Keep the group posted of any changes.

That doesn't bother me so much as the lack of a pitch control. I tend to
use the pointer-at-edge-of-screen scrolling quite a lot in most games.
That said, IMO the best, and perhaps most common, game camera control
method I've come up against is the cursor keys to move, ctrl+cursor keys to
rotate.

I can't get the demo to work on my computer. It gives the error "couldn't fall
back to software refresh. Has anyone got any ideas how to fix this, as
from the sound of all of your reactions to this game, this is well worth
trying.

Thanks

Jeremy

sounds like a problem with the moniter resolution/refresh rate.

software 'refresh'?? Well, normally I'd say it meant 'software rendering'
probably because your graphics card drivers wern't supporting openGL
properly/sufficiently/etc.
