The question about various incarnations of X-Com got me looking into the fan-made projects. I've downloaded the Xenocide alph dated April 2003. Does it do anything other than demo the geoscape? I couldn't seem to make it do anything else and the readme didn't say anything about it. Anyway, I thought it was pretty darn cool, except when you zoom in really far the landscape gets very blurry. Aside from that, playing an X-Com game that looks like that from the get go would be really nice. :) Just want to know if I'm missing something. Warren

That's as far as Xenocide has come, so far. Like all Open Source projects, it is done in everyone's spare time. If we are lucky, it might actually get finished someday. I have been trying to work on it for months, but I can never seem to find enough time. ------------------------------- Scott T Jones Author of XCOMUTIL (current version 9.42) Author of APOCUTIL (current version 1.00) ------------------------------- http://XcomUtil.ScottTJones.com

Coming from a guy who's single-handedly kept X-Com 1 & 2 going strong for (at least) the past five years, works full-time, is currently learning Italian so that he may warn his future in-laws to stay away from coastal areas (or so I gather).... yeah, I see your point. Kudos to Scott, & plenty of it. Erm... has anybody mentioned EDF in this thread? Oh, rightio. Makes sense. *Satis ==Off=the=Rails== "Ciň č una lancia termica.
