I just found a used copy of x-com Apoc for $4.99. I installed it under
98se and it seams to work fine. my problem is I didn't get a manual and
I can't figure out how to assign troups to my apc. to get them to
sightings and some times they even seem to get stuck while on ther way.
is there a text version of the manual that i could down load? or do i
have to figure it out the hard way. any help would be appreciated.

Isn't there a manual on the CD?
Check there just in case.

'fraid I don't remember how you loaded them,
but check the base menus, equip craft etc like
in the earlier games. They might have kept that.

On the screen split in two - people on the left, vehicles on the right, you
have to drag the person's portrait onto (or off of) the desired vehicle on
the right. This is the same screen which appears when there's an "alien
detected" alert.

Unless it's a numerous-hand of the original release or dodgy copy, there
should be a PDF manual on the CD.

Thank's Mel C That worked. I bought a oem version 1. copy, dated June 24
1997. All that's on it is a readme file, no manual.

There's a whole bunch of other stuff you'll need the manual to know,
like how to set grenades to 'explode on impact.'

version Id get it just to add to the set.

oh yeah. You know I have a paper manual and have read (parts of) it twice
now.

'If an Agent already has a grenade in their hand and you need them to throw
it quickly, simply select the grenade with the [right mouse button] in the
Hands Area. Click a target in the Isometric Map View. the grenade will now
be thrown at its intended target and explode on contact with the floor'.

I always set the timer!
