WOW ! I never know x-com had a proximity granade... ( I did not know what it ment at the time :) ) It's very cool in the UFO2000 mod... it means when someone comes close it goes boom :) LOL... very funny... I wish I used that in x-com enemy unknown/x-com defense :) That would have been funny, scary, handy and exciting Great tactic ! :) lol.... it would be even more cooler if it would make dynamites explode... ( more impact ) Haven't tried that yet... Check out UFO2000 multiplayer modification ! it rocks ! :D

They're invaluable for guarding your back when moving around cities and the larger ships, and perfect for suckering aliens into walking out of their ship into a prox nade :) -- Alfie <http://www.delphia.co.uk/> Parkinson's Fourth Law: The number of people in any working group tends to increase regardless of the amount of work to be done.

I don't think so ? so the proximity granade would probably be useless against stronger... aliens ? It is fun to use them though ! :)

In double door craft so as to cover that door without using manpower. On single door UFOs I'd do it as well, while I secured the rest of the map. While this might block acces, some alien could always be relied upon to walk out. I did get into a habit of a timed explosive on max time along side it in case no-one came out but I never really needed it and I stopped arming the timed grenade.

I don't believe that works in UFO. I believe the first explosion elimates all objects in it's blast radius *before* they can explode. At least this is what I've noticed. However, in TFTD, this will work. As for the original message about prox grenades, they're invaluable in UFO but not as useful in TFTD. Reason is that they can't be cleared (without a cheat IMO) and so once they're placed, if they're in a bad area, you're stuck. There's no way to get rid of it save an alien of one of your men setting it off. At least in UFO, if it's in a bad spot, you can toss a regular grenade on it to clear it out of the way so you can pass. I'll do this a lot when entering UFOs. If they don't come out after a while, I'll clear the prox and go in after them. Even if they don't take out the tougher aliens, they're still useful as a warning device should an alien try to flank you. Warren
