Game is running now. I unpacked the game on the host and copied over to the guest via the network. Now, the problem appears to be that the guest isn't picking up my MouseUp event quickly enough. Here's what I mean: I'm trying to purchase items. I press the 'up' button to purchase something. I do one click, and the item keeps increasing till it reaches maxiumum! It thinks I'm holding the button down or something. Does anyone have an idea as to what to do? I suppose I could use the cheats to purchase and then deduct money accordingly, but I rather get this working the right way. Also, the game is either incredibly fast or I have a bad frame skipping. The marines move but I don't see any animation. Mo'Slo wont' work at all.

I've seen this happen when running the non-Windows version of newer computers. I think it's working the way it's "supposed" to, it's just way too fast to control accurately. Don't know of any solution except for a slow-down program. > Also, the game is either incredibly fast or I have a bad frame skipping. > The marines move but I don't see any animation. Mo'Slo wont' work at all. .... which doesn't help with my previous comment any. :( Have you tried similar programs other than Mo'Slo. Only thing I can think of .... except rigging an old DOS computer just for X-Com (and similar old games). Warren

Yes, you are right, this happens in UFO only, not TFTD. It's quite annoying as it seems to happen more often when you are equipping your troops. >> Also, the game is either incredibly fast or I have a bad frame skipping. >> The marines move but I don't see any animation. Two other possible programs: * MySlow: This ones works VERY well for it, but works only on Win95/98/ME. You can configure it to slow down the game only and not slow down the entire system. * Turbo: This one works on Win2k/XP, you can't tune it to work as accurately as MySlow, and slows down the entire system. For the links search in the old articles of this newsgroup or search them on Google. Greetings, Crazy Photon

I select English as my language, and then the intro screens fly by like I'm holding down the mouse button. When buying/selling, it's the same. I can't buy 1 or 2 of something. It's like 46 or nothing. I have to use the cheat program just to engage in transactions. During battles (troops or subs) sometimes a button stays down. I have to right-click to stop the left-click.

How can I learn this information? I can't discover it by right-clicking on the executable.
