Xenocide new alpha?

Well, I tried to get the latest Xenocide Alpha to run on my system but
it didn't. It created a black Win32 console window in 800x600 and then
immediatly went back to the desktop.

Engine Report.txt says the following:

-- Log Begin

Error found: Uknown error.

So I downloaded the CVS source tree and did a grep for "Uknown" but
coudn't find it any any of the source files.. (???). And yes, it does
say "Uknown" and not "Unknown" :)

Maybe I didn't CVS correctly though since

src/xenocide/main.cpp only has this code in it.

#pragma argsused
int main(int argc, char* argv[])
{
    return 0;
}

I would post this on the Xenocide forums but xcomufo.com claims I
don't have permission to post there.

My system is a Pentium 3 733 MHz, 448 MB of SDRAM, Windows 2000 SP3,
and with a GeForce 2 Pro Ti with 64 MB of memory.

Hi,

For the forum you have to register first so we know who we are addressing in
further reports.... if you dont want to register, you can use the feedback
form.

About the CVS, it is outdated and it is missing a key element, "The graphics
engine" it will be there when i finish basic collision detection (if
everything goes well in 2 weeks), because it is my CS Bachelor Degree Thesis
and i cannot publish until approving. However i have an agreement with my
tutor, I can release it before aproving if i freeze the code and the design
but i am required to implement the promised features first (CD is the last
one)...

About the error, those errors are from CG (C for Graphics) compiler and the
error string is extracted directly from the nVidia library. Their error
messages dont give me a clue about why that happen, but it happen when CG
tries to compile the vertex program. Will have to investigate that further,
but i cannot trigger the error. In an estimate of 2 weeks we would be happy
if you can give us a hand with that problem since you can trigger it (and if
you use CVS and grep i think you can program too)... BTW the older versions
work for you? cause i didnt change anything in that part of the code since
Pre-Alpha 2.1 Build 9.

Well, I figured out the problem.. Turns out I was using older Nvidia
drivers that didn't have support for CG. Upgrading to the latest
Nvidia drivers gave my card the ability to do CG so now the demo runs
with no problems.

Thanks,

Devin.
