I was recently playing x-com, and I found myself on a site ( this is in TFTD by the way) that was totally different from any of the usual sites. It was the average mission, the usual bug-hunt. OH except for the very large aeroplane sitting on the bottom of the sea, which totally threw me, though I thoroughly enjoyed the new scenery and finding the little aquatoid snipers scatterd liberally. It was one hell of a mission and was puzzled why I hadn't come across this scenery before. Another mission was where I had to crawl through a sunken galleon (OOOH my knees were knockin'). The reason that I am mentioning this is because Id like to start a thread on the strange sceneries you've come across. So get threadin' and tell us all about it. PS. The scenery so far includes:
The aircraft wrecks - dont forget the wings and engines explode if hit by
weapons,it's not only grenades and HE ammo that have explosive qualities...
barrels as well
The galleon wreckage
An 'Atlantis' type city
'Black tuber/volcanic' terrain - kinda like a desert really
Rocky outcroppings - many multilevel firing opportunities. The 'pond life'
has the coral forests and those big purple pizza things...
Shipping wrecks
Oil/deep sea exploration labs - my first game, first mission ever, when I
got and installed TFTD, saw this scenery, shortly before my naut was waxed
by three Gillmen after taking one step out of the Triton... Scared the shit
out of me, cos I wasn't expecting it, and it was so fast [had to slow that
fire rate down, so I could see where it came from!]
Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head, and not
including artefact sites [I really detest these missions out of all of
them - I loose to many good men on these missions]
