Our good old freind, Keith the Etherial (duh) has been in touch with
starBLADE studios and asked a few questions that I think all of you regulars
and fellow freinds will be interested in reading :
1) What does Microprose want from our newsgroup?
Nothing. It is simply the only X-COM related newsgroup on the Phoenix
server,
so I chose it as a place to put forth requests for idea, beta testers, and
as
a place to post development news. If we are to truely do the title
justice,
we must know what players liked and disliked about the game we are
remaking.
After all, it's the players who ultimately have control over the checkbook.
:)
2) Will they get in touch with our newsgroup personally?
I do not believe so. Microprose is an international publisher with many
titles in development all over the world. This is a small newsgroup on one
server, so I don't think they will. One of the further answers will give a
more compelling reason.
3) What will they do with our ideas?
Technically, Microprose wil not be doing much with anything until the game
is
completed. My company (StarBLADE Studios) will be developing the game
completely in-house, we are not taking funding, or assistance of any kind
from
Microprose. Our talks with them are mainly for publishing agreement, and
aquiring the lisence to the title in the first place. Once we have the
lisence, their involvment stops until the project is finished. Woth the
exception of peogress reports and demos, of course.
4) Will we have any further involvement?
Yes! Once we get the lisence, this newsgroup will be where we post all of
our
development news, our updates, and we will continure to take ideas right up
until the game goes into producion. The newsgroup will still have alot of
involvement, believe me."
END
Its good to hear that starBLADE studios is taking an interest in what we
say, and are regular readers of our news group. Lets keep up the good Ideas
and X-COM fellowship.
Another point of interest is that starBLADE studios MAY help us start an
E-MAIL game, so lets keep our Ideas going.
