I know I'm repeatig my self but sence It makes sence to post to this
thread.

Scott: The Dos version of the game has problems runing under 2k and
DOSBox (under XP)

the problem is in how runxcom.bat detects weather your entering combat
or exiting the game.. I cant pin it down as to why the method you use
is not 100% working on this, as it works fine for the windows
versions...

the problem can be solved by changing the DOS spacific parts of the
file. this will not effect the windows games so the date check method
will still function for them..

the changes can be made to the following:

ufoexe\geoscape "0"

add to it to look like

ufoexe\geoscape "0"
if errorlevel 2 goto begin
goto end

and then change the line:
ufoexe\geoscape "1"

to look like this

ufoexe\geoscape "1"
if errorlevel 2 goto begin
goto end

save the file and now the DOS games will work with the CVS version of
DOSBox and win2k.
