i should prolly mention also that UFO aftermath is more friendly towards having your entire team whiped out, repeatedly. on this one mission (that was pivitol to the plot, so i had to eventually win it, no it doesn't go away till you do) i had my entire team completely raped about.... 6 times. loosing your entire team isn't that bad, you'll find they get near instantly replaced with new team members. you only loose your weapons, i've lost some good ones :( so yeah, don't worry if you are getting your lungs handed to you every second mission. it'l eventually teach you to take less risks, more cover, sometimes tacticaly retreat, and take better care of your guys. oh and since you are only upto mission 6 or so, i assume you are battling transgenents. when i first saw transgenents with RIFLES i was getting my ass handed to me as well. but don't worry. when you kill those guys, you get their weapons (if you don't have them, it's a good idea to arm your guys with them out in the field, ie: pick up the dead transgenent's weapon and use it for the rest of that mission), and then from then on YOU will be mowing them down more :). i still get owned, and sometimes get so paniced i decide to just take cover and when the aliens are close enough, send a hail of grenades at them. old school :) and whatever you do, don't do the save/get-owned/reload/get-owned/reload/get-owned/reload/win/save thing. it makes you feel dirty. jsut take it all on the chin. you don't loose the game till you loose the game :) "roid" <roid@***SPAMKILL***zzz.com.ru> wrote in message news:bt31et$rbo$1@lust.ihug.co.nz... > take cover > > > "alan.hoar" <alan.hoar@btinternet.com> wrote in message > news:bt27ci$7u$1@sparta.btinternet.com... > > Having played all the X-Com games I was looking forward to this. > > > > I have done about 6 missions and all of a sudden the Aliens can blast me > to > > pieces when my chances of hitting them are extremely low.
