Every now and then I check it out. LSN in it's current form doesn't
appeal to me and it's been so long ago that they said they had started
working on AI then I'm beginning to wonder what the Hades is going on.
Ohwell, it probably means it's going to kick arse when it's done.
Meanwhile I plan to keep myself happy with Combat Mission: Afrika
Korps. A scale up from squad based combat, but a whole lotta turn
based combat fun.

But I forgot to mention one game that might satisfy our squad based
RPG-ish tastes. Silents Storm has a rather spiffy engine. I suggest
anyone who hasn't done so already checks out the demo. The deformable
terrain is a real joy, AI is pretty competent. My cool-o-meter
redlines when machine-gunning a sound contact a floor above you only
for the floor to give way and a corpse to flop down the hole,
preferably getting stuck half way! The only real niggles are that AI
turns take loooong and that map sizes are small as a result of wich
throwing a grenade means you can't toss it very much past your own
feet due to compressed ranges.
