Dr. Bob,
I'll assume you weren't kidding (for once!). If you are playing
original XCOM in a DOS window under windows 95 or 98 (Or NT or 2000 if XCOM
will run there). During the mission you press the "Print Screen" key. This
snaps the screen. Then you Alt-Tab to get back to Windows, bring up paint
(Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Paint). In Paint you use Edit -->
Paste to bring the picture in, press OK when told the picture is bigger than
the current one. You can then save it out in whatever formats your version
of Paint allows using Save As. Then you can Alt-Tab back to your game.
Due to the many strange ways that the Windoze configuration can be
screwed up: Your mileage may vary. <grin>
