Is there any point in WC3 where you actually *need* to use the Leech Missile? I know you can use it on enemy ships, but there doesn't seem to be any other purpose beside that. -- --- TTYl; Dave, bd...@torfree.net - Toronto, Ontario, Canada. - In the year 2000 man will be able to travel 10 times the speed of light, once NASA develops a machine to slow light way down. No; you should be able to get throught the whole game fine without ever even loading a Leech onto your ship. They're pretty nice, though (especially when they actually work- mine tend not to). > -- > --- > TTYl; Dave, bd...@torfree.net - Toronto, Ontario, Canada. > - In the year 2000 man will be able to travel 10 times the speed of light, > once NASA develops a machine to slow light way down. This has nothing to do with what you wrote but. Conan O'Brain
rocks. The year 2000 is the best skit he has.
Now if he can only come up with some new skits [other than
the moving mouths, if they mated, Willy the upsidedown man,
Tamari the ostradge, Antonio the guy who stuffs the wrong side
of his pants, crazy articles ("You can't make stuff like this
up people!") ect, ect.]
I'm a BIG Conan fan ;)

By the way: I don't know why they put that missle in, the Friend
or Foe is one that I never use either....

First of all, I also like Conan's show, but I have no idea what that
has to do with WC (love that ostrich!)
Second, if you're not using the FF, you're missing a lot. It's
guidance system requires no lock(you don't even have to target
anyone), so it's great against strakha, if you're in a hurry. It's
also very useful if you're playing on nightmare against a swarm of
Ekapshis. Just release a few FFs, they will seek out any enemies on
your tail.
As for the Leech, it worked great in Armada, but I think Origin
thought it worked too well. They weakened it for WC3, only too much
for it to be useful.

Just remember it takes a few seconds after a Leech hits for it to work. As far as I can tell, if they hit, they eventually work: which is the same as saying one shot, one kill, an _excellent_ weapon to use against a powerful foe. Your target floats inert in space, apparently forever, easy to mop up w/guns. Leeches are nice to use in a Longbow, since a disabled target is easier to chase down. Leeches work against Asteroid Fighters too, and they stop dropping those damned mines! -- Craig Lambert Predestination: its not just dogma, its the law. Or will be, someday.

Yes, but its fun to pick either Thrakath or Hobbes to _cripple_ - floating helpless in space, while you go deal with the other. Sneak up, lock on, decloak and stick two Leeches up his tail. You can't get sloppy, cause you can't completely clear the nav point of what are they, Pakthans? (though you could disable THEM if you want, w/leeches) but you can circle back and savour toasting a helpless Thrakath (I would only do this to Thrakath, your mileage may vary).
