Hell, they're spending all this dough on games, why not sell the rights and
make a movie with the original cast? I'd go see it! Wing Commander is one of
my favorite futuristic universes...and alot more plausible than Star Trek
(although it's cool too).

Actually, I never have and never will believe in the Kilrathi. Who
designs and builds their weapons, their ships, their plumbing systems
and their light switches? One of the books spoke of the 'shame' of a
'mere' Captain of an unarmed freighter, who could not hold his head
up, or find females for mates. What about all the tens of 1000's of
other glory-free but necessary jobs for a high tech civilization?

The whole 'Big Cat/Top Predator w/intelligence/Warrior Civ' line is a
feeb. (Larry Niven, are you listening?).

At least ST has got a few good, plausible and interesting alien
species to work with. Though the ST universe is kinda flat as far as
humans go.

But...I do love WC as a game!

I have to agree with some of your believes (read my post in this
thread) about the movie may not be a sure-profit. But hey, if ST and
SW can be successful, why not WC? Maybe I'm a bit bias, but I think
the WC universe got potential. If ST and SW can be successful in the
silver screen, I think WC can too if it's done right.

Tried that once... It was called Battle(yawn)star Galactica. SAA keeps
the fighting interesting because something actually happens during the
show.

Yuppers!

And I'm sure Origin can make it much better than space above and
beyond too. =) Chris Roberts, are you listening?
