Hi.. can anyone tell me what the hell happened to the TCS Concordia? Why is
it sitting in an ocean all blowed up at the beginning of Wing Commander III..
is it just me, or does Col. Blair have a REAL bad track record with capital
ships?

Hmmm... off the top of my head, I'd have to say that you don't
get a reason for the Concordia's destruction. (I can't see
how it happened, though.. I mean, it was just a big GUN...)

I'll try checking my WC: Heart of the Tiger novel for it, though.

Happy kitty whackin',

I believe it says in one of the WC novels (End Run or Fleet Action, or
something) that the Concordia was destroyed in the battle of Earth.
It briefly mentions the battle in the war summary in Victory Streak.
(when the Kilrathi launched missiles at Earth).

As far as I can tell from reading the time lines etc. the TCS Concordia was retired to patrol duties as it was becoming
rattely. While on patrol it ran into a kilrathi fleet, it tried to fight them but was destroyed due to lack of fighters and
dated technology.

I think this is about right, if anyone knows any more I'd like to know,

Um, the Concordia was the Confed *flagship*. I highly doubt that it was
anywhere near as old as you think.

(grin) The TCS Concordia can be just 5 years old, but hard-won
battles are bound to take their wear and tear on any ship, no matter how
proud the name. =) Maybe it wasn't getting old, but it certainly would
have become rickety.
