Imperial star destroyer vs behemoth. With no fighters on either
side. Which ship do you think will win?

(grin) 30 million gigajoules focused into one lancing point. I
think the Behemoth will take an STD easily. =)

But the Bohemoth vs. the Death Star? Whew that would be too close
to call I think. Probably the Death Star since the Bohemoth has
paper-thin shields and armor.

been actually well-prepared and fully outfitted, it's still doubtful that
the Death Star would have much of a chance. If the ranges of their main
guns are simialar, then the Death Star should take a longer time to lock
on to a moving target (even if it is as big as the Behemoth) while it
would be rather hard for the Behemoth to miss something as big as the
Death Star.

Obviously. The Victory could take a STD.

I'd say that both the Behemoth and the Death Star could kill each
other in one shot, so it just matters which one fires first.

Star destroyer. Simply because the Behemoth had weak shields and
limited defenses. As long as the destroyer stayed away from the
Behemoth's main cannon, it's cornacopia of lasers and ion cannons would
make short work of the behemoth.

as long-ranged as the Behemoth's main gun. As long as they both start
relatively far away, it's no competition. Even if they start within each
other's weapons ranges (which seems really close for a SD) then the Behemoth
could definitely get off a shot before being destroyed by those pathetic
SW lasers.

Didn't it take the Behemoth a looooong time to charge up its main
weapon? Like, long enough for the STD to maneuver around the Behemoth?
Course, I dunno...the Behemoth, for all its size, still might not be as
big as the STD...do they ever give length/width/beam measurements of
the Behemoth?

It never really said that the gun needed to be charged, just that it
needed LOTS of fuel to power. I think the Behemoth was way bigger than
a star destroyer. I mean, remember the jump sequence where Victory looked
like a little fighter compared to it? And I thought Victory ws 700 meters
or so long. I was under the impression that a Star Destroyer was about a
kilometer long or so, so that means Behemoth would easily be bigger than
a Super Star Destroyer.

A Star Destoyer is 1600 meters, or 1.6 kilometers, or a bit over 3/4 of
a mile (if I remember my conversions right). The Executor (the Super
Star Destroyer), however, is at LEAST twenty miles long, maybe more. I
mean, in _Jedi_, when you see it next to all the other STD's, it's
ENORMOUS...the Behemoth may well be over a mile long, but there's no
WAY it's as big as the Executor.

I think that the Behemoth is about 2 kilometers in length.

Hmm... Probably even bigger than that. The Victory next to it
looks absolutely tiny, and the carrier is supposed to be 700 meters long
already.

This is a stupid comparison. Put your Bohek#$#$% up against the
Deathstar and then see what happens and forget about the TCS Victory.

Who cares about paper-thin shield? Heck, both of them have the
firepower to destroy a planet! Shield strenght is absolutely
irrelevent.

>>I'd say that both the Behemoth and the Death Star could kill each

I'd say the Behemoth will win (if they don't destroy each other)
because the Behemoth have a much greater mobility. So the Behemoth
might at least have a slim chance to dodge the shot.
