they're going to be able to get back all of their money is through
merchandising all of the miscellaneous stuff like t-shirts, mugs, and
fridge magnets...

As to Privateer II, I enjoyed no.1 immensely and hope to death they've
improved the flight control...it was WAY too 2 dimensional. The only
other thing I'd hope they'd do is include a doom-type scenario...so you
can lock on to other ships, enter them, kill the crew, and steal the other
ship to sell as salvage. I'd also like to see computer operated turrets
so you don't have to run back and forth firing them all. Of course, I'd
also like to be able to hire a crew (opens up a whole range of things,
like mutiny, theft, a bunch of stuff).
And if anyone has a retort about the 2D aspect of flying in Privateer, try
flying around a planet, or a space station...try to find the SUN in a
system, or moons, they just don't exist!

ORIGIN has done a LOT of work on it's software, much more than any other
company has, I hope they keep it up, but I also hope they don't get caught
up in their own programming so much that they don't expand their own horizons.

Kudos to ORIGIN!
I love your stuff...keep up the good work.

And oh, one other thing...PLEASE go back over your scripting after you're
done and include it in the program...get an ENGLISH graduate to go over
it, not an engineer who has the time to do it now that the rendering is
done...
Case in point:
Wing Commander III
On CD-1
After saving the Blackmane, upon requesting clearance from the Victory...

"There having a party in your honour on the Blackmane, Colonel..."

There? THERE?!
No, it's THEY'RE...They are...They're...not there, there denotes a place,
not a possessive.
I don't want to come down on anyone, but this was early on in the script,
no one should have bee overly tired or sloppy at THIS point, should they?
A minor nitpick, but hey, if you're LOOKING to employ an English grad to
go over text in any of your future endeavours...I'M AVAILABLE!

Ahem... Origin grossed $12,000,000 the day of WC3's release on
software alone.

'nuff said.

I'm a writer and I didn't have any problem with that. It's a game, and I
was listening to the speech, not reading the words. Probably like most
people, so they probably didn't pay that much attention to the captions.
