WC4 mpeg2 DVD

I've searched for weeks, and I can't seem to find a copy of the mpeg2 version of WC4 anywhere...
I've tried ebay, I've tried any/every search engine you could imagine, I've even tried sell.com !
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of this ever elusive version of WC4? I would very much like to see
WC4's videos in DVD quality. I've noticed a so-called "DVD Interactive" version of WC4 - but I suspect this is NOT the mpeg2 version...

If possible, I would like to be able to buy this without having to buy the DXR2 card that included this version.

Any suggestions (besides giving up, and settling for the Win 9x version's ho-hum video ;))?

Thanks in Advance!

E-Bay is your best bet. But unless you have a DXR card or a Hollywood+
you WONT be able to see the videos (at least you won't be able to see
them in game). So you better buy it WITH the card if you ever plan on
playing it!

The thing is, I don't need the card this was bundled with - as I already have a creative DXR3 card I pulled from my old 399 mhz pII system.
Worse still, even if I was to buy another DXR card, I'd end up buying another DVD-Rom with it, as those were the only ones that included the mpeg2 version of wc4...
Not only that, but on ebay, there's no guarantee that the included copy of WC4 still comes with the DVD drive.

I am not 100% sure what you try to say, but to clarify any confusion:
You NEED the DXR card that the DVD was bundeled with.
You do NOT need the original DVD Drive that the DVD came bundeled with.
ANY DVD DRIVE will do as long as the decoder card is present.

To clarify: I already have a Creative DXR3 card, which should be compatible with it.

Basically, I'm looking for just the game itself - not the hardware, as I already have all of the hardware the game needs.

Yes, you can pretty much only get the game on ebay. There are often auctions
that include only the game and not the hardware. (For example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3085110532&category=4315 )

If it isn't clear from the picture in the auction that it is, in fact, the
double sided MPEG2 version of the game be sure to email the seller and confirm.
There have been instances where, even if it's listed in the description as the
MPEG2, double sided version, the item has actually been the single sided
non-MPEG2 version and vice versa. Sellers sometimes get confused and copy and
paste descriptions from other places that don't realize describe a different
version of WC4 DVD.

How can one tell the difference? I have a WC4 DVD that doesn't have any real
labelling on it, except on the inside rim of the DVD. The movie files on it
have a .vob extension..

The one that requires the DXr2/3 card is silver on both sides, with
the only printing being around the hole in the center. The one that's
just the 6 CDs combined onto one DVD has the CD label design on the
one side, with various verbiage about "not for resale" (oops :) ).

Just get the normal DVD version and rip the VOB files, then convert them to
mpeg then burn them to DVD as you would if you were trying to copy a normal
DVD movie then you can watch them on a normal DVD player.

The "normal" DVD version doesn't actually have VOB files - the normal DVD version still has .TRE files.
Unless by normal you meant the mpeg2 version :) [That's the one with VOBs]

The easy to find standard DVD version is nothing more than an exact duplicate of WC4's 6 CDs, stored on a DVD (read: no enhancements to Audio/Video/etc.)

Plus, as I've said earlier - the hardware is a non-issue. I have a creative DXR3 card that should run the game nicely - all I need now is the mpeg2 (DVD) version itself...

Really? there was someone on Ebay a while back selling loads of them. Just
be on the look out.
