Wing Commander IV DVD ed. with Windows XP

I just got Wing Commander IV, the double-sided DVD edition. I am a Windows XP user. So far I can play the missions by using Windows 95 compatibility mode. Unfortunately, I cannot play the movies.

I use DirectX 9, and I have a S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR adapter. I've gathered from other posts that this was an edition intended to work only with a specific graphic adapter from Creative Labs.

Can anyone help me with this to work, or is it a lost case?

To view the movies as part of the game the game (any DVD-capable
system can view the movie files directly, separate from the game), you
need either the Creative DXr2/3 or Hollywood RealMagic (IIRC on the
name) decoder card, as it was set up with a proprietary codec since
there wasn't really any DVD standardization when WC4-DVD came out
(early 1996).

Lost case, really.
Its not a graphics adapter, but an addon board, the DXR3. So you can mix
it with any graphic card. There is NO software solution (even if it uses
your graphic cards hardware DVD abilities) that works relyably. SOME
people have menaged to get it to work with the CINEMASTER (ATI) DVD
players and the WINDVD players. NONE of those results have been
reproduceable by the masses. Additionally it is even worse to make it
working in XP I have heared (cannot talk about personal experience here
as I'd not thouch THAT system) as XP and MCI drivers don't mix well.

This reminds me, has anyone tried getting the Hollywood Plus to work with
WCIV in Windows XP?
