Where to get WC - noob question

Hi,

Years ago I recall a free download of one of the WC games, is this still
available as I'd like to play it now that I've got a machine capable of
doing it justice.

Thanks in advance,

The WC game in question is Wing Commander: Secret Ops, a sequel to
Prophecy. As I understand it, the game engine is still open for
download, but the episodes were a limited time offer. So basically, you
can download the game, but you'll only be able to play one sixth of it.

Your other option, of course, is to buy it on CD; it comes packaged
alongside WCP under the name "Wing Commander Prophecy: Gold Edition".

There are a variety of fan mods, campaigns and games that work off the
Secret Ops starter package as well.

www.secretops.com

Though, really, "I'm not going to bother to look, I want you to give
me the answer" isn't exactly going to make you very popular.

I went there, and I've just been there again now to check, there's a
download for some of the accompanying stuff but not for the main game files.

It's all there, just checked. Full game, full game with speech, speech
pack separately, and so on. Perhaps you're not going to the right place
in the site?

"Full game" meaning the game files and initial episode.

The problem is that it seems the SO servers on which the game is hosted
don't respond, and the mirror links have long since expired.
