Decompressing wc1 DOS module.002 file

I now have the MS-DOS version of the wing commander 1 module.002 file. I
would greatly appreciate any help from someone who can tell me how to
decompress it. The decompression cannot be done by the installation program
that comes with the game. When decompressed the file will be approximately
230 KB.

I once received the file in this form from Mario Brito, but I lost it. If
anyone has a current contact for him (he wrote some QBasic editing utilities
for Wing Commander) that would also be appreciated.

What do you want to do with the file? Why do you need some modification
ot it that the install program does not provide?

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
In practice, there is.

To try and use it with the Kilrathi saga.

Whatfor?!
I mean KS is a standalone Product, no files from WC1 are needed?!

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

Then let me ask a completely stupid question:
Why didn't you ask that someone posts you the KS version of that module
file instead of asking for a decompressed,...

Unforeseen Consequence of the "Millennium Bug":
Microsoft declares the year 1900 to be the new standard of the
"Gatesian" calendar.

Because I already have the KS version; I am interested in the DOS version
because I remember the DOS version does not have the bug, and in fact if
I hadn't ever played the DOS version I wouldn't know for sure that
something is wrong with the KS version.
