I vote for Privateer, myself.  The other games give you no choice of
missions.  Privateer steers you towards the key missions, but how & when
you get there, and with what kind of ship & weaponry, is up to you and
your skill.  I far prefer the choices.

I've seen some people say that you "have" to have cheats.  Bull!  I'm no
expert gameplayer, but I've gotten through Privateer and Righteous Fire
before I'd ever even heard of cheat codes.  I don't even have a joystick;
these games aren't _that_ demanding.
