I did never actually complete the KS version of WC1, but assuming there 
is no change towards the dos version - no there is no possibility to 
save after the last mission. Whatever rewards you get here (the pewter 
planet for example) are lost.

You don't get anything. You can even start the expansions with a fresh 
character. The only thing you get is that you keep your medals and your 
killscore. Nothing of in game relevance.
