Actually, there are fact here (mathematically speaking). From the axioms 
in field theory you can derive:

X+0 = X
X*1 = X
X*0 = 0

These are facts. A number 2 doesn't exist in that sense, only 0 and 1. 
What you name two is simply a convention of writing it shorter instead 
of using two 1's in a row to represent more then one.

Not that this has anything to do with the discussion, but I got my picky 
day and got time to waste - a dangerous combo ;)
