Problems with WC Prophecy under WinXP

Prophecy was running great, then I tried the improved resolution mod.

That mod would not let me play the movies without freezing the game.

So, I uninstalled everything.

Now Prophecy, when reinstalled, freezes up without ever displaying anything
other than the launch menu (the install/play/etc. box).

Any suggestions or ideas?
