Greetings All,

Had to stop for a while, getting house ready for sale, but I am back
into Freelancer again!  I am up to level 5 and need to meet Juni in
the bar on California minor (which apparently is patterned after CAs
High Desert because it looks so damn barren ;>).  During the briefing
of the last mission (where I stopped at the Battleship M (sorry can't
spell the damn word right now ;>) and had the presence of mind to pick
up a Defender Heavy Fighter) she mentioned that she would give me the
codes to the rest of Liberty Space (don't recall the exact words)
since I didn't have a Jump Drive.  

So the question is:  do I get a JD at some point?  Will one show up in
market? Is there a place for one on my ship I haven't seen yet or dose
one come with a higher level ship? (pant, pant)  And, does it operate
like P2?

As I get more use to the game, it becomes more fun and interesting.  I
have learned to swap out my shield for a better one and just got
through buying a heavy thruster, my  current shield has a rating of
something like 890 and I can get one (920) for something like $3000 is
this really worth the cost for so small an increase in performance?
Or is the extra points in coverage worth any price?

Also, at this point anyway, I see no need to worry about which shield
I have to fight off which gun type, the strategy guide (packed away
:<), seems to indicate that someone will always have a gun that will
work good no matter what shield type you have, so I just look for the
highest level I can get/use.  I feel the same more or less with the
guns, I took me a while to understand the optimum/maximum numbers on
the gun but I got it figured out finally, I just look for a good
damage one that dosed't use too much energy! ;>

Also, turrets, do they fire automatically or do I have to run back and
use them myself?  

Since I have 5 mounts, I am looking into using missles...any good
ones?
And,  how do I do it so I can fire my guns with the mouse and do the
missiles separately?

About the only thing I don't like it the mouse flight control, it may
be that I am too used to my Gravis, but I am getting better with it.

BTW--don't you just feel the love with the people of Freelancer?  You
can just walk up to anybody and demand info! ;> I keep waiting for
Trent to look at the bald security female and go "Hey, you look
familiar, didn't you used to work with that Kirk fellow?"

 Um...speaking of which, I have been buying info from some of the
people (like getting "all" the info on the battleship M) which seems
to just put its location in your Neural Net.  Is that all it dose? Is
this so you can go there later and seen what trouble you can get into?
