Enterprise is way too fast and maneuverable to be hit by a gun that big. Problem is that it would take Enterprise all day to punch through the Death Star's shielding and armor, unless ST weapons are much more advanced than their SW counterparts. > The Death Star main gun can kill....well, anything. Hell, a photon torpedo is a HELLUVALOT > more powerful than ST plays it out to be... > Despite looking through the Star Wars role-playing manuals, I don't ever recall seing how a proton torpedo works. I don't see how they could be nearly as powerful as photon torpedoes, though, since the technology in SW doesn't seem to be that advanced relative to ST. In my limited amount of play of X-Wing, it wasn't my impression that protons were too great. I mean, it took two of them to take out a SD shield sphere, and in one of the movies (Return of the Jedi, I think) two A-wings (I think) blew by one and shot it with lasers a few times and it was history. However, this is obviously not the same with the video game, so the matter is up for debate. As far as photon torpedoes go, you might be overestimating the amount of antimatter available in the torpedo. I can't say I've seen any manuals on the subject, but from what I know of physics it's quite difficult to contain antimatter since a large amount of electricity is needed to maintain the field that keeps the antiprotons going in a circle. I guess ST technology should be vastly more advanced, though... > -- > Lee Hutchinson > Poke...@ix.netcom.com > "One hundred and six miles to Chicago; we got a full tank of gas, a half- > pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses." > > "Hit it."
