Modem won't dial, help

My modem will not dial in Warcraft II but dials fine in everything
else. Yes I checked the init string and it is fine and yes the modem
is hooked up. Blizzard doesn't seem to know how to answer email
questions from their support line so I have need of your help. The
modem is a DSI digicom 14400 baud modem which has a flashrom. I go
through all of the steps but when it is going to dial it just sits
there and says OK. Nothing happens from then on in. If anyone can
fix this for me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

You probably checked all this but I'll throw my two cents in.

To dial you have to the CD-ROM in you drive. Unless you found a hack for it.

The game is device independent for the modem, so it shouldn't matter what
type of modem you have as long as you turn error-correction and
data-compression off, plus it helps if it is a hayes compatible.

Make sure you have the baud rate to 14400 or lower and make sure Call has
been selected in the list box.

Then you have to have the number entered into one of the boxes not sure
what one it is but its the first box.

Then make sure you have the proper COM port selected... (not your mouse port,
I've seen people doing this so thats why I say it)

Then select 'OK' and you should be fine...

But if not, try using the command line 'DLINK'. So at the dos prompt type
WAR2 DLINK

The dlink enables the faster serial communication software for the game.

If this still fails then well... buy a new modem :)

Make sure that the mode you've set it to is "call" and that the phone
number is typed in. If all this is done.. I don't know what to tell
you. <Get a USR>
