WC2 - Act4 level 3. How? HELP!!!

I get into Act4 level 3 and found that I have little manpower and the 
starting point do not allow me to build any building.  I used ships to 
search around and only find a small entry point in lower left corner for 
me to land.  However, there are lots of emery and canon towers.

I lost all men and ships but can't move deeper.  Please help.....

P.S.  I read the tips and see that human can make the tree as well as 
rock to grow but I did not find any command allow me to do so.  Is it 
possible for me to build up trees and rocks or even walls during the 
game?

I beat that level (legaly) by just taking all the battleships I had and 1 
transport, going straight up to pick up the guy you need to escort, and 
then just rushing to the finishing point.  I lost almost all my ships, but 
if you're quick, you can unload the guy and get him to the circle you need 
to.

That the last stage.Try destroying the towers with the ships.At the same 
time send in 6 footmen and 6 knights.You should be able to get in.Then 
send for the other armies.Start building a base.Try to build a lot of 
guard towers or archers(guard towers are better) or dragons will be a 
great problems.Take control of the gold mine just north as soon as 
possible.When you have lots of gryphons,go to the centre island and 
destroy the portal.Make sure they don't go near guard towers.
